  • Mayan World Riviera Maya - Grnd Bliss & Grand Luxxe Exchanges

FYI - if you are exchanging into the Grand Bliss or Grand Luxxe - know that RCI & II both have a new $30/pp/day fee and exchangers do not get to use the Beach Club or Grand Luxxe pools or beaches. This even applies to owners who exchange in.

We came here for our 50th Anniversary trip and because we were owners who exchanged in using some use or lose weeks, we have not been allowed to use the Beach Club pool or beach just beyond it. This is a recent policy for them - even though we made our reservation more than 1 year ago when anyone with a GB reservation was allowed to use the Beach Club. This new policy also excludes any Mayan World (even GL) exchangers to the Beach Club & Grand Luxxe pools. The Mayan Palace pool & Grand Mayan pool and the MP beach is what you get if you do not take the Sales presentation. We were not willing to endure that, so we are being punished.

We have been members/owners for 19+ years and have owned SG - then multiple MP weeks and 2 GM weeks before upgrading to GL and were not allowed to use the Beach Club even though we have spent $$$$$. We will not come back to Riviera Maya.

That’s terrible. We have never been to that area.
Do they have a pool area for the exchangers or are you out of luck altogether?

Yes - there are 2 pools that we can use. the Grand Mayan one that is not near the beach and the Mayan Palace one that is. You have to go early to get an umbrella. The resort is so spread out now that they have trams running regularly, but this morning we had to wait 15 minutes for one. It is a mile from our unit to the MP pool & beach. There are wooden walkways that can be used, but mid-day you get really hot walking in the sun.

The Beach Club pool that was originally built for the Grand Bliss is close by and have special smaller trams to and from it. Because of the new change in not allowing exchangers to use that pool, we cannot use those trams - we have to walk to the grand Mayan Jungle units to catch a tram.

People staying in the Grand Luxxe as exchangers cannot use their beachfront pool either. They also have to use the GM or MP pools and beach. There are some new GL Jungle units and their pool and Lazy River is not finished and they cannot use the GL Pool. It is my understanding that when the Lazy River is finished that only GL members will be able to use it.
