  • Tonight I part with one of my prized wines

This is killing me to open this wine. It is a wine that goes up in value with every year that passes. We are going to my Cousins restaurant in Brooklyn and we are going with 2 other couples. I want to leave the empty box/bottle for my cousins bar shelf. Oh you want to know what wine it is? Sure here it is MARILYN NAPA RED '02 1.5L WINE OLD & RARE

Frank, enjoy the wine and leave a nice memento for your cousin.

Drive carefully, the weather is bad.

and if it is THAT good - can still buy another bottle and watch that one go up in price, too.

Yes but now I have to pay more than double of what I paid for the first one. That hurts.

They only came out with a 2002 and a 2004. I can get a good deal on a 2004 right now so I might jump on that one.

Packaging and the bottle it self was the best I have seen for a wine bottle. In all these years I never opened the box because in order to open it I had to break a gold seal so I did not see it until last night. Was the wine worth it no Is the bottle worth it Yes I believe even empty it has value. I am looking to get another one now since I saw what the bottle looks like I want to display it.

It was good but IMO I would take a Sugargrille Brunello at half the price which is a far better wine, It was pictured in the link no?

Here is an idea that I learned from my sister:
With the used wine bottlle. A cool or unique bottle.
Use a small string of clear Christmas lights put them in the bottle (Like 5 ft) and put some decoration like a bow or fake flowers on the outside of them and they make a cool decorative light.

That looks like it would be a nice bottle for that use.
