  • 16 inches of New Snow Fall on December 9, 2009 at Christmas Mountain

On December 10, 2009 when we called the resorts front desk they said our resort received 16 inches of New Snow Fall on December 9, 2009.

The front desk also said that our resort is opening the ski and tubing hills at 12:01 PM CST this Saturday December 12, 2009. You canall the resort's front desk at 1-608-254-3941 for the latest snow condition undates and ski and tubing lift tickets and equitment rental prices.

We live on a Eagle Lake in Racine County, Wi. Our lake is about 517 acres. Between the wind blowing at about 35 to 45 MPH and a low of -1 degrees last night with a wind chill of -25 below our lake froze over enough in 48 hours to support the 3 to 5 inches of the wet heavy snow that fell on December 9, 2009.

We are enjoying the lake views and our 3 fireplaces.

    And get out the blower.....

      Nice

Bruce, any suggestions on a place to eat either Christmas eve or day? Even though I am a good cook, I am sure the wife would like to go out one evening. We were thinking Great Wolf. The CMV restaurants have not impressed us lately.

We were also thinking of going to the magic show. Have you hear anything about it?

Our front yard and outside hot tub faces our lake to the west.

It is about 30 feet out to our hot tub past our d deck eck and we only use the hand held leaf blower to clear a path out to the hot tub and to get snow off of our hot tub.

But our driveway which can hols about 12 or so cars has been plowed for hire by our nieghbor for the past 13 years. His prices are reasonable.

This is the first If the wind dies down we may try the hot tub tonight. The temp is supposed to get to 11 degrees later today and about a high of 20 degrees tomarrow.

We in a earlier cold snap of about 20 degrees were in the hot tub for about 45 minutes and enjoyed a great sunset.

I am sure some will get their snowmobiles out. I do not have our 1000cc Artic Cat ready to go, but maybe after this cold snap passes.

Pat, knows all the best buys at the best places and may post and make her suggestions. I think she liked the magic show but we have not seen it.

One that we really like is the House of Embers on the main drag. Their food IMHO is good and has got good reviews few ago in the main Milwaukee paper. We have not ever had a bad meal there. Is reminds me of a 60's and 70's type supper club and has a piano playing some nights that takes requests. IMHO their prices are reasonable for the quality for a resort town.

We sometimes for special occasions enjoy eating in their separate private dinning rooms like their Valentino room.

For Friday nights it used to be if you got there before 6:00 PM save could about $5 or so per certain fish meals.

I would make reservations there asap if it sounds like a place you might like. Ask about one of the rooms like the Valentino room.

As a treat I surprised my wife by booking the Valentino room and not letting her know. It can create a special memorable feeling.
