  • South Lake Tahoe - What is "must do"?

Hi. My wife and I will be staying at Wyndham South Shore for a ski week soon. We've never been in Tahoe before. Anybody have suggestions for "must do" in the area during winter, or comments about the resort itself? Any casino or restaurant preferences?

    Thanks, Mike

Hi Mike, you will have a fun time at South Shore. This resort is one of my favorites in the WorldMark system ( Wyndham/Fairfield and WorldMark have units at this resort.)

Please take a look at this link and find a discussion we have had earlier about someone staying at this resort and what people recommended at that time.

Have a great time at Tahoe!

My wife and I are half-way through our week now. Wyndham South Shore is a nice place. The tips about a great view at Vista Point at Emerald Bay were spot on. Same for good atmosphere at the Lakeside Inn Casino. We've skiied at Heavenly and Sierra so far. I do green, my wife does blue. We don't have too much of this white stuff and bumps in the ground back home in Florida!

I went on Kapish's recommendation this past September and just loved it - hope you are using those outdoor hot tubs!

We have a 2BR. One Queen bed in one room and two singles in the other. Two bath. Small patio with an outdoor electric grill. Good-sized living and dining rooms and kitchen and fireplace. Outdoor personal key-locked storage room for skis & boards. Very nice.

Kinda funny now that it's over - we checked in the first evening then went straight out for dinner and casino. Came back late. Wife went straight to bed. I noticed the phone message light on a little later and called the front desk. They were *very* apologetic, but they mistakenly checked us into a 2BR Deluxe instead of the standard we had reserved. So they asked us to move the next morning, so that the family that had reserved the Deluxe could get one (no others were available). They gave us a couple of perks to soften the incovenience, and all was OK, no biggie. Both 2BRs are the same layout and size and nice, but the apportionments and finishing on the Deluxe were definitely nicer.
