      What is "trading power"?

      Learn About Trading Power
      From the RCI Website:

      What is "trading power"?

When you deposit your vacation week, RCI assigns it a value we call
"trading power." When you request an exchange, you can choose from
other weeks with trading power similar to yours.
So it's in your best interest to have the highest trading power possible
      for your vacation week.

      What determines trading power?

      These six factors:

How soon you deposit your Vacation Week.

Depositing early maximizes your trading power and increases the
likelihood you'll get the exchange you want, when you want it.

It's a good idea to deposit your vacation week as soon as you can
if you aren't planning to return to your home resort. You can deposit it
up to two years before the week's start date. You may also request
your exchange vacation at that time if you want -
but you certainly don't have to.
By the way, depositing is free.

The supply, demand, and usage for your home resort.

During holidays and school vacations, demand for RCI-affiliated resorts
often exceeds supply, and it may be difficult to fulfill all requests.
Whenever possible, requests are matched to members who've deposited
a vacation week that has a similarly high trading power.

The supply, demand, and usage in your resort's region.
Again, higher demand increases trading power.

Comment card ratings for your home resort.

What do other members have to say about your home resort?
Their comments help set your trading power. By the same token,
your comments affect the trading power of the resorts you exchange for.
That's why it's important to fill out a comment card and return it to RCI
      when your vacation is over.

The size and configuration of your unit.

Your unit is also rated according to the maximum number of people
it can accommodate and the configuration of its floor plan.
For example, consideration is given to how many people have access
to bathrooms without passing through other sleeping areas.
In general, larger units increase trading power.

The seasonal designation of your vacation week.
The weeks in RCI-affiliated resorts throughout the world are divided into three
seasonal categories. Higher-demand seasons maximize trading power.

Red denotes periods of higher demand.
White denotes periods of medium demand.
Blue denotes periods of lesser demand.

Why are you so mad at RCI.

Are you ever gonna make peace with RCI?

They are not that bad, just use them like they use us.

Just curious - which trade groups do you use? In your opinion, have you had better luck and service with any particular group?
