Hi we bought a small package earlier this year and while i am not a stupid individual i do feel that i get took a little with the "this is the only time we can make this offer by law" statements. We used both our points and bonus time to spend a week at myrtle beach and loved the system so I'm not complaining at all but i do have some questions. 1st of all I want to upgrade and will most likely go thru resale to do this but I'm not sure that my april or may (I'm not sure which) is ideal. is there any way to change my aniversary date? Also since I already have charter benifits is there any reason to buy autherized points? Another question is should I try to get my upgrade pionts at a location and time of year that i know i would like to go to in order to insure that i can get into lets say shorecrest in june every year unless i choose to do things differently and not use my week and go the points route instead. My current deed is for the atlantic city location and I know I'm never going there in this lifetime. At this point in my life I only go on vacation 1 week a year and I dont see this changing anytime in the near future. Sorry for the somewhat disconnected feel of this post and thanks for the advice that I am sure to get.

The only way to guarantee a certain time is to own that specific week.
Bluegreen aren’t selling weeks just points.(you might find a fixed week resale but the good weeks are like hens teeth).

Only by buying more points from BG will you be able to change your Anniversary date. You will not be able to change this by buying private / Ebay.

          Colin,
I have been told on several occasions, by different BG sales staff, that it is impossible to change your anniversary date - even if you purchase additional points. This is a fact that is not usually revealed at the time you buy into BG and establish your anniversary date, even though your point reload date (anniversary date) can be crucial when booking vacations.

Many sale people do not know all the ins and outs, It is possible to change points anniversary dates, when purchasing more points. Don't forget the points anniversary date has no baring on your deeded time or when you pay your Maintenance fee's, Bluegreen try's to keep a balanced 1/12 points distribution.

We've upgraded 4 times. With every upgrade we were able to adjust anniversary dates...until our last upgrade. After the sales person looked at us with a deer-in-the-headlight look when I asked for my anniversary date to be adjusted based on how we've come to use our points, she ran out of the room to "ask her supervisor" if it was possible and came back saying they had just gotten notice THAT MORNING that the ability to adjust anniversary dates had been revoked. It was a battle I was too tired to argue so I let it go. We'll just keep paying our MF ahead of time to get our points when we need them. As much as we love our BG ownership, we really dislike the different stories we get at every owner update. BUT, we do learn an awful lot about the sales pitch and have started to tell the truths from the non-truths so we'll continue to attend them.
