Civil War sites and Colonial Williamsburg has taken up even more of our time. Lots of timeshares and somewhat easy to exchange into them. One year we even got the annual pass to Colonial Williamburg and must had made a dozen multi day trips there despite the 10 hour one way drive time.

I have enjoyed Virginia historic sites since first visiting them as a child, but the attitude of the current governor toward their state's rich history now puts a bad taste in my mouth. Politization of history is not something that is helpful. History should not be subject to political attacks.

Williamsburg is great but never have done a timeshare exchange there.

NC's OBX also has some great history from the Lost Colony to the Wright Brothers.
