  • Review: Marriott Grande Vista, Orlando

Our extended family (kids and grandkids) exchanged into Marriott Grande Vista into a 3BR lock-out, unit 3327/28. The building #83 was in a good location, only a couple buildings away from the pool/clubhouse area. Check in was easy for my son, who arrived a couple of days ahead of us. The resort provided s complimentary high chair and porta-crib for his 1 year old.
The unit was huge. You enter into a common foyer for the 2 units. The 2BR unit was to the left and the studio was to the right. The studio had a king bed, sleeper sofa and a microwave/refrigerator/coffee maker area. There was a standard tub with shower and a small balcony with 2 chairs and an end table.
The 2BR had a full kitchen, well equipped, with a stackable washer/dryer. There were 4 stools at a counter plus a glass dining table that sat 6. In the living room were a sleeper sofa and 2 comfortable arm chairs. The balcony had a table with 4 chairs. We overlooked a pond.
The master bedroom had a king bed. A jetted tub and dressing area was to the side of the bedroom, with a door leading to the bathroom with shower, sink and commode. There was a 2nd door leading out of the bathroom to the hallway beside the kitchen.
The 2nd bedroom had 2 double beds and an en-suite bathroom with tub/shower combo.
There was plenty of room for everyone to spend time in the unit without getting in anyone's way.
The unit was very clean, with nice towels and comfortable beds. There were a couple of maintenance issues. The deadbolt to the main entry door did not work. The stainless steel refrigerator had dents in it. The overhead light in the 2nd bathroom was out, and the snaps on the shower curtain did not snap the 2 pieces together. We did not report these minor issues until checkout.
The pool area was lovely. This was a chilly, rainy week so there was only 1 day warm enough for swimming. There were planned activities such as bingo. The exercise room was standard.
There was a large children's play area with planned activities but the hit of the trip for our 5 year old grandson was the room with a big climbing maze. He spent time there each day and never got tired of it.
There was a fire pit but it was not lit 2 nights we looked. The planned fire pit/smores night gathering was cancelled due to rain.
The location of the resort is good for restaurants, shopping and trips to the theme park.
We had a very enjoyable time here and would recommend it to families who need a large unit.
