Buying more points

I am a relatively new owner at Wyndham Bonnet Creek. I did buy from Wyndham and I love it! At the purchase of my timeshare our salesman talked to us about being able to rent out some of our weeks and we were really excited about the idea of the timeshare paying or itself over time. Well, it actuality I don't have enough points to go on the vacations I want to and rent out a week to get back some of what we are paying.

Can someone give me some advice? I have a few ideas and questions.

I have an idea to buy more points resale at Bonnet Creek and rent them out. Is this wise? It looks like I can buy resale at an awesome price.

If you do recommend me doing this, where can I purchase my points from a legitmate reseller?

Would I owe more maintanance fees if I bought points his way?

THANKS!

Well, I guess the first bit of advice I'd give you is to make sure you really learn the system before you begin thinking about it as a source of revenue. Based on your last question, I'm guessing you need to start with the basics. Any considerations of renting can come later.

Read up on the wyndham section of this board, and consider joining the Wyndham Owners' Forums at http://forums.atozed.com/.

I'll get you started with the most important question you asked - YES! you will need to pay MFs on any additional points you purchase.

There is a reason not many buyers try to accumlate points so they can provide travel lodge service.

But you certainly can try first. Try to rent out. Don't need to worry you will not be able to use it. If you can rent it out with reasonable profit, you should be able to use the money on hotel's deal at this economic.

When you know you can get reasonable profit then you can decide if you want to buy more resale.
