I think an Exchange company should be just that.

The renting of "surplus weeks" shouldn't happen and certainly the withdrawing from the exchange pool of highlly desirable weeks for rental shouldn't happen.

Unfortunately RCI's terms and conditions state they can do what they wish with deposited weeks. That stinks and until people stop depositing with them they are likely to win the legal battles.

Hasn't affected me yet, still trading away, but I think the time is close, or perhaps here now next year, that it will.

Unfortunately I don't know what to replace RCI with, there is no adequate replacement hence we all put up with this nonsense and wait for the day when we can no longer do what we do.

I don't belonger to RCI but I thought you had to be a member to purchase a week.
II does the same kind of thing but you have to be a member to buy. I don't mind so much on the low end stuff that nobody wants but I have seen premium stuff for sale that I can't trade for. I imagine as the units age they make them available for trade. Are all the units they sell deposited weeks or are some excess rooms that have been given to them by the resort?
