Is there no interest in the NBA playoffs?

I am surprised that nobody has started a thread about the NBA playoffs. I have been an avid Lakers fan for 40 years. Obviously I am very pleased with Saturday's game.

Unfortunately for the last several weeks, we didn't know which Laker team would show up. Would it be the team that really wanted to win or the lackadaisical one we saw in the Houston series.? In any event we are up 2-1 and have regained home court advantage.

I have mixed emotions about the Cleveland - Orlando playoffs. On one hand I want Orlando to win so the Lakers will have home court advantage. On the other hand I would like to see a Lakers vs Cavaliers final which would put the 2 best teams and the 2 best players in the NBA against each other. However, the way the Cavaliers/Magic playoff is going, I think Orlando is probably going to win.

Thug ball.

Only in America could an assemblage of thugs become multi-millionaires for playing basketball. Without their basketball skills, most of them would face a lifetime flipping hamburgers - or becoming convicts.

I'm not a Basketball fan, nor do I really follow Ice Hockey or Baseball. However I have a fleeting interest if any of the Toronto teams are doing well. In the case of the Toronto Raptors and the NBA play-offs that interest had disappeared by November, which was roughly about the same time I lost interest with the Toronto Maple Laughs and the NHL playoffs.

It's tough being a sports fan and living in Ontario, Canada lol.

A little envious are you? You could say the same thing about many of the NHL players.

As a Knick fan, I'm more interested in the NBA draft at this point.

I am also an avid Baseball, Football and Hockey fan but like you I lose interest if there isn't a California team competing. Fortunately we have several teams in all the sports.

I remember the Lakers vs Knicks game at MSG earlier this year when Kobe scored 62 points for a MSG record.

No.

I watch stuff like The College World Series, College Softball, Little League World Series, March Madness.

I tend to watch golf cuz I'm in awe of their abilities and it's pretty hard for them to choreograph what they do . . . there's the ball, here's a club, hit the ball with the club. Two shots and 530 yards later they are putting for eagle.

I avoid theatrical sports events . . . wrestling, NBA, The Yankees, etc.

I am watching quite a bit of both conferences this year only because (1) I'm a lifelong Lakers fan, and (2) I enjoy watching the Celtics lose, and (3) Lebron's amazing.

But, as an avid fan of most every sport, I find regular season NBA games pathetic. There's no defense until about the 4 minute mark, and then only if the outcome's still in the balance.

It's really kind of sad -- some of the world's best athletes with some of the worst work ethic. I much prefer the college game for that very reason. Same is true for football; college is an order of magnitude better than professional.
