Question Purchased timeshare - having second thoughts

Just wanted to get some feedback from anyone really.

I purchased a timeshare at Grandview, in Las Vegas 36 days ago.
It's a 1 br, we get 1 week a year(in July) and 2 extra weeks.

We are in Australia, and we're travelling at the time, got sucked in with the high pressure sales tactics.

I want to cancel as I have finally been able to read through all the paperwork, and there are a few things we were not told previous to signing.
The only documents we were shown were the papers to sign, everything else was given to us after signing. We were so busy after that we didn't get a chance to sit down and read through the paperwork.

I haven't found anything about a cooling-off period, and we are past the 5-day rescission period.

I also worked out that we earn under the pre-requisite earnings for the presentation.

Can anybody help me out on this, as I am unfamiliar with the American legal system?

First, I would rescind immediately, by fax and certified mail. Include a letter that states that they violated the rules as regarded your income.

Secondly, contact the Attorney General in Nevada to find out how to protect yourself from them....here is a link:

Filing a Complaint with the Nevada Attorney General’s Office

I am sure more of our folks here will have advice, but this would be what I would do right now.

Sorry for your troubles. Katiemack has given you some good ideas, but if you end up stuck with it due to the passing of the rescission period, please hang around here to learn how to make the most of what you've bought.
