Another airline collapse in the cards? FlyBE this time

Europe's largest regional airline, Exeter, UK based FlyBE is teetering on the brink of insolvency and might go under, which would strand millions of passengers. It is being reported that it may only be a matter of days to see if they will be able to keep flying or not.

Part of it is that EU rules do not allow governments to bail them out. Hungary's former airline, Malev, went under when the EU ruled something the government did to help them that was really not a subsidy counted as a subsidy and had to be repaid.

Thanks to Brexit, the UK government has bailed out FlyBE. The EU rule no longer applies to them.
