    Gold Owner buying resale

I have a question that's always kind of confused me: we currently have 36,000 points and are Gold owners. We enjoy our timeshare and come to Big Cedar many times a year. If we buy 20,000 points on eBay can we still use these points with our Gold benefits? For example--I place a waitlist request for Long Creek and it takes like 50,000 points. Well, only 36,000 of my points are "qualifying" for the waitlist program so do they only allow me to use those 36,000 for wait list requests or can I use all 50,000 on wait list requests. I realize they would not count towards platinum. We have researched that both with Pinnacle and through Bluegreen and it would cost us like $30K to go to platinum and I'm not sure it's worth it for the few extra benefits we lack as Gold members. The reason we are looking into more points is that one of our kids has left the nest and married and we enjoy sharing our trips with him and his new wife and well--the points just don't stretch as far as they used to. Plus, of course--it's nice to have the power to stay in presidential suites when we travel.

    Thanks for any insight.

Currently your 20,000 resale points would be treated the same as your current points. You can wait list.
They will not count towards Platinum but you are right that the few additional benefits you would gain does not justify spending 30K

Just make sure your resale points are the same sales type and trust fund as what you currently own so you pay only one base fee each year. You will only be charged for one club dues as well.

Bluegreen has recently started taking away platinum benefits so paying retail price to get these perks when there is no guarentee they will remain is totally not worth it.
