Charming Old world style TS in the heart of everything you want to do in Santa Fe
We rented directly from the resort and got an RCI discount of 10%.
Paid $211 for a 2 bedroom 1 bath.
Surprisingly we were able to get 2 rooms since it's such a small resort.
We called about 3 months in advance for the rental.
They are kind of on the honor system.
Didn't charge our credit cards til after we checked out and said come down and check in whenever you want.
Since we checked in on a Sunday, I called ahead and got instructions on how to get our keys.
This building used to at one time be a jail that housed Billie the Kid so it's like trying to enter Ft. Knox.
They give you a lockbox code to get two keys to the building. Problem is that there are about 3 lockboxes
on the building so which one is it? We did eventually figure it out. Then you get a key to where the luggage racks are
kept and another key to the lobby/breezeway to the elevator. Just one small European sized elevator.
You need a code to open the elevator and then another code to ride it up.
Once you get to your floor you also need a code for the door to your unit.
Like I said, trying to break into Ft. Knox. LOL.
We had a minor issue with one of our rooms where the occupants stayed over and we were assigned another
unit but it wasn't put in our welcome package. After about an hour of phone calls and messages left on every
number we could find, we were able to get into the new unit that was supposed to have been assigned to us.
While there we met four ladies who own two weeks there and come every year for a get together. It's a very
quaint intimate TS with only two floors of rooms. Maybe about 20 units total. Not much exchange activity in RCI
but I did see several units in Platinum Interchange so that may be the way to go with this place.
We had unit 201 which was on the patio courtyard. It was a 2 bedroom 1 bath with two queen beds and a big
kitchen with a table that seats around 8. You have everything you need for a great stay here. Free wi-fi, free
parking, friendly staff and a fabulous location for Santa Fe old Plaza visits.
The rooms are sort of updated. The furniture was comfortable except for the dining room table. Rustic style
so they get away with older furniture but very charming. The bed linens were beautiful Indian works of art.
Wish they sold them in the office.
Our friends room was 207 and faced the street and was much smaller than ours. Had a small fireplace which
we did not have. 201 was nicer with a better location.
There is a coffee shop/bookstore on the ground floor of the TS. Parking is in a small lot. It's limited. It wasn't a
problem in Sept. but may be a problem at more popular times. There is no guarantee of parking. You can park
in a municipal lot across the street if need be for a fee of course.
We did the open air bus tour of the city. Takes you to all the highlights of the town. We also did a day tour on our
own to Taos. IMO, probably should have spent more time in Santa Fe. Taos was okay but not worth shorting our
Santa Fe stay. Because this was a rental we had daily housekeeping.
All in all, a great stay. I'd go back anytime and would definitely consider this place again.
Great job Otra Vez translated into English means, one more time. Hopefully I'll go back more than one more time.
