    Anyway, here's what I'm thinking.

I want to get rid of Centurytel at our summer place (2 phone lines and wireless Internet) and Comcast at our winter place (wireless Internet).

We would use cell phones only and use a 4G hotspot for Internet.

    Whattya think?

Ole POC is still hardlined to a phone line for AOL>>>anything we can do about that, to have internet on it? It obviously does not have a wireless card.

What I'm wanting to know is if this is the type of thing that can be used for everyday home PC or LT internet access, instead of cable or phone DSL type access, or is it just another electronic gadget with a contract, a plan, and a monthly fee?

I am going with>>>No, a mobile hotspot is not a viable substitute for traditional cable or phone company high-speed Internet for home use.

I tether when I'm away. Depends on how many bars you get. One and you are ready to rip out your hair. Three or Four you can live with. Not as quick as internet but faster than dial-up. The ap is ~ $20/year and I use verizon with an unlimited data plan. Don't know about AT&T.

I would not give up dedicated wi-fi at home.
