    When we had our entire two story house re-carpeted they removed the carpet one day and then installed the new carpet a couple of days later (that was due to our scheduling, not theirs). The guys who did the carpet work moved the furniture, it was basically kind of back in place after they pulled up the old carpet. So we just went about out business, but on the wooden floorboards instead of carpet.

    here is a good laugh, I have the receipt from 2001, and this carpet costs less than then and adds a room. I went to the former installer, and got pretty close to the cost in 2001 as a price.

    You are off by a 130 sq. ft. The first room is 12 X 20 which is 240 sq. ft. The second is 10 X 10' 8" which rounded up is 110 sq. ft. The total should be 515 sq. ft. or 57 sq. yds.
