If it sounds too good to be true, it most likely isn't.

For many people who bought from the developer it doesn't seem to be too good to be true. They know that at the time they thought their timeshare they thought it was worth what they paid for it. So when they receive an offer that is in the ballpark of what they paid for it, that doesn't seem unreasonable. And if someone comes in offering more than what they paid for it, that doesn't seem strange either because they were probably told they were buying real estate and that if they didn't buy now prices would be increasing in the future.

So even for a lot of people who would normally become suspicious about too good to be true; the scammer offers really don't seem too good to be true. We shouldn't be surprised that they are so easily sucked in.
As Tony and TR state, we NEED to keep bringing these solicitations to our forum to continue to warn people.
My friend who spoke to this company on the phone is an intelligent, educated person - anyone can be duped by these "super" sales people.
You all buy new cars, right?
... and now this is on the first page of a Google Search

Thanks for the thread, very helpful, saved me time of digging deeper into this company, as I got a cold call from them today, (something I am not used to with my timeshare)

As a side note their website dalewoodpropertycollection.com was registered in July of 2012, all of the registration information is highly generic and goes to a yahoo address, and the website is hosted on a generic Web Hosting site in Argentina (which seems highly suspicious given the business is 'located' in Denver Co.

Hearing the hook they tried to pitch (classic send us a portion of the money and we will send you the larger portion later) in OP's post seals it for me as scam.

I thank you for all this information. I received the same call and letter of intent but got an offer for my TS in Mexico for 30K. When I spoke to the supervisor, he seemed so nice and knowledgeable about TS in Mexico. I did wonder why they didn't have a 800 or 866 phone number. I was told that they have an investor wanting to buy as much TS for Villa del Pilmar and be part of the UVC.
I also got a call from Sunrise Timeshare in Florida. Offering me 21K for my timeshare... all of the sudden we are getting 2 calls a week!!! I asked them how they are getting my information, they replied "it's public information".
Does anyone out there rent out their TS on ebay?

Definitely a scam. To add to what others have posted the "local" Denver phone number is actually an Internet phone number (VoIP). My guess is that they are operating outside of the US, likely in Mexico.

Just wanted to chime in, after googling Dalewood Propertyies and looking on the Department of Real Estate site for Coloraod. Other then their own generic website, there is nothing else I could find on Dalewood, until I came across these posts. I got the call too. They offered me $34,200. I thought I'd play along and see how far they went and what they were going to want to pay me my $34,200. Well today I got my contract. They want me to send 8% of my sales price to them ahead of time, which will be reimbused. Why the hell would I do that? Besides knowing, that this the first step to a scam, it is also agsainst the law in California, where I am not sure about Colorado where they claim to be located, to charge advanced fees without prior approval from the real estate commissioner, who btw-never gived permission. Not to mention that the "closing company" called me from a Chicago number. Everytime someone called me from Dalewood, it came from a different area code. It's probably prisioners making the calls..........But I agree, has to be a scam, although they sure sound legit. Closing company said they are trying to purchase the entire resort weeks for their corporate employees. For those that want further info, I came across a free consumer protection legal service you can call at 360-888-4800. He is a timeshare attorney and doesn't charge for his calls. He is part of this forum, under a different thread.

Exactly, that's the scam. Who sends people money when they want to buy something from you. It's pure stupidity. Hey I want to buy your house or car, send me 10% first. It's stupidity. and of course they are going to try to make it appear legit, that's what thieves do.

EDIT - my friend has told me they told her they charge 8% of purchase price as their commission of the 35K, no mention that they will take their 8% out of the money before they send to her.
The FBI is looking into this. The email comes from Sierra Leonne. They are not honest. I went through the entire process until I got to the part hwere they wanted me to send them the money ( I knew it was coming ) and then packaged it all up for the BBB and FBI.

This scammer has similarities to other recent scams. Their website was just created July 12, 2012. The registrar is located in Argentina. The phone number is a VoIP. All of these characteristics are the same as these scammers:

BBB has an alert for this company already. Seems they are not at the address they claim to be. No surprise since all the scammers do is pull an address off of Google. http://www.bbb.org/denver/business-r...er-co-90149651

have been working on identifying the scammers business model. I think I have it close but I am still perfecting it:

    1. Search Google to get an address of a nice "office"
    2. Create VoIP phone numbers that have a local pre fix to match their "office" location
    3. Make up testimonials
    4. CREATE the website
    5. Bombard timeshare owners with phone calls
    6. Have shills post on the web announcing what a reputable company they are
    7. Reap in stolen money until the heat increases
    8. Close website
    9. Repeat step 1
