    MountainLoft---getting in

My husband and I have paid more than $10,000 for our timeshare at Mountainloft. And pay maintenance fees regularly. In ten years, we have not ONCE---not one single solitary time, been able to get a chalet. Ever. There is alwasy and excuse---they are all booked, we don't have enough points, etc. A couple of times we have been able to get the low end apartment type units, (The last time we got a ground level unit with a spectacular view of---a concrete wall. I kid you not.

We are trying, yet again, to get a chalet for fall break this year. The automated system says we have enough points for a two bedroom combined townhome but when we try to take THAT it says we DONT have the points. I am finally really angry. All that time listening to a high powered sales where they show us this fantastic chalet, when they know they have no intention of ever letting us near it. They few stays we have had were worth MAYBE $2000. We have been so ripped off here and I am finally ready to fight. We are STILL waiting to hear from BG/Mountainloft, and if we don't get our week I am going to the BBB. I saw BG earns a rating of C+ with the BBB. Does not instill me with confidence of a good outcome. I also saw on the BBB that in Pennsylvania there has been a government action against BG for practices just like what I am complaining about above; they are going to have to pay out a small fortune as punishment. Has anyone here filed any complaints against the Mountainloft resort? If I don't get any satisfaction from Mountainloft or the BBB action I'd like to look into initiating a Pennsylvania style complaint.

First off there are no 3 bedroom chalet units. There are 2 bedrooms with Loft that sleep 6.

There are very few of these units available. In prime leaf season, weeks 40-43, these units are 12,000 high red points.

I find Bluegreen to be fairly easy to use and to get what you want in most cases IF you understand the rules. In your case, if you know your fall break dates well in advance, you should book at exactly 11 months out or better yet wait list for the unit you desire.

Lawen, there are...and there are not. It comes do that 'locked door' issue. There are 2 main bedrooms and then the upstairs loft area with beds but no locked door. So yes, it is a two bedroom unit but sleeps an army.

rebeccartr, The Chalet takes 10,000 points in High Red weeks 22-33 or less points in lower season. If you book early, you should have no problem getting into them. Plus there are a lot of other resorts to get into with your 10,000 points. You just need to book early for any of them. Check the points table to see how many points you need and at 11 months before you want to check in, get in your request.

That's funny you should mention it. I just booked one this week for a friend who requested it.

Calling BBB will do nothing to help you. In fact, the system works exactly as documented. You just need to learn how to use it to get what you want.

Are you trying to book your deeded week? If so, call owner services more than 12 months from check in and you get exclusive access to it.

If you are looking to get something other than your deeded week, then try calling exactly at 11 months prior to check in. You will probably get one. If you can't get it at 11 months, then you need to get wait list privileges. But that is a question for another thread.

Mountain Loft should be ok to get bookings for... How many points do you have, and are they annual or biannual ?

If she spent $10,000 ("more than $10,000 doesn't give enough info) at the current sales rate, she could have only a few thousand points.

On my earlier posting, I threw out a number of 10,000 because I feel a person needs 10-12K to really make use of the BG system. If she has 3-4K, she has almost no booking value.

She hasn't been logged back in since posting her question, so we have no idea what she has or how to help her other than to say that BBB isn't the answer.
