Which GM do you like best?
Which GM do you like best and why? I'm trying to decide which one would have to most appeal to my husband and I for a vacation in late Oct/early Nov 2009 ~
Thanks !

I have been to 3 maybe because it was our first time but we had a blast in NV. Rivera Maya was not done but we are returning next year, Acapulco was very nice with it's super long pool.

That is a tough question! All are really nice and have different things I like because of the location. We tend to rotate our visits so that we go to all of them fairly regularly. We plan to try the Cabo one later this year.
I love Acapulco - it is where we first learned about MP. We later upgraded to GM. We love the beach and palapas in Acapulco and the long pool that you can walk at the end of the day. There is a lazy river that I like to float. While the resort is large, it is not as big as the Riviera Maya and Nuevo resorts.
Riviera Maya is really nice - HUGE! The pool is awesome. We like to go to Playa del Carmen. This was the first resort with the palapa beds around the pool.
Nuevo Vallarta is another HUGE resort. It has a wave pool, waterslide and lazy river. There are a lot of palapas along the beach. You can go into PV or Bucerias for meals and shopping.

We preferred Nuevo over Mayan Riviera. The size seemed more manageable.

Thank you for your opinions!
It seems like you cannot really go wrong with any of them..
I am leaning toward the Nuevo and Riviera Maya now (mostly because I can get a direct flight from Newark..)

We (4 ladies) have been to ACA & RM. We liked ACA better. We are going to NV next Feb so we will have a taste of all 3.

We have visited the Grand Mayan - Riviera Maya for 3 two week visits. We have also visited the Grand Mayan - Nuevo Vallarta for a 2 week visit. We always exchange through SFX and do 2 weeks per stay. We are leaving for the Grand Mayan - Riviera Maya in 10 days for our 4th visit there.
We like both resorts for different reasons but our preference is Riviera Maya. The advantages to Nuevo Vallarta are:
1. Resort is more compact so it is easier to get around.
2. The beach is very good for swimming and body surfing.
3. The weather is much more consistent.
4. We had an awesome upper floor ocean front unit with fabulous views.
The advantages to Riviera Maya are:
1. More spread out so it is more relaxing as there are areas you can sit by yourself.
2. More dining options.
3. Very large spectacular swimming pools.
4. Many more cultural attractions in the area.
We go in April and have done the Easter week and week after ( Nuevo Vallarta ). This year we are purposely going later as we want to avoid the spring break vacationers and also want the warmer weather ( Riviera Maya ). Last year it was pretty cool the first week and we could only go in the pool a couple days that week. This is not a problem at Nuevo Vallarta.
If you want a good swimmable beach then Nuevo Vallarta is by far the best. We don't care about the beach so that is not an issue for us. We are more interested in just relaxing and taking in the cultural activities. We have always been able to get the exact unit location that we wanted at both resorts.
We have been to all the attractions in both areas. Our favorite by far is Xcaret - Riviera Maya.
