Paris

We just booked a July 2010 week at the Hotel Napoleon. We are staying in a studio (45,000 points). The hotel's website indicates that there are different size studios. I assume that we will be in the smallest one.

Has anyone stayed there? Any information about your stay would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Sam

Beautiful hotel, well located, it was a hotel room - but by Paris standards, it was big.

Smile Hotel Napoleon

This is a wonderful place in a perfect location. The staff is very friendly and speaks good English. The RH room is small with a queen sized bed, but if you don't mind twin beds, these come in a larger room. (They can be pushed together to make a king.) When I stayed there last April, they showed us a junior suite which we could have (with twin beds) for an extra 100E which included breakfast. We did it and aren't sorry - the breakfast was wonderful and the extra room was great after being on the road and in hotel rooms for a couple of weeks. Again, this was April and I don't know how full the hotel was at that time.... I really don't think the breakfast was worth 26E but you should probably do it at least once for the experience. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

The hotel and room are small. But the location is amazing. A couple of blocks from the Arc de Triomphe. For 5 Euros a day, they will empty out the minibar fridge and you can use it to store your perishable food. They will also bring up a tray for free so you can make your own coffee or tea in the room. There is a small neighborhood nearby with a great Farmer's Market and a wonderful french deli.

Is there a shower in the room or down the hall?

Hotel Napoleon

Oh goodness, the bathroom is huge and beautiful, with a shower and large soaking tub. Ensuite.

I don't think I made my last post clear. In order to get the larger room with twin beds, you need to email ahead and request twin beds. I believe the twins only come in the larger room. Not that the small room is that small or that you will spend that much time in the room.

You can get a three day or one week metro pass - good for most travel around the city. It takes a different pass to get to Versailles. The metro stop is about a block away. Also, don't know if you will be on the road this long, but there is a self serve laundry a few blocks down the street (on a side street) and you can get the change for the machines and purchase soap from a machine there. There is lots of info on the area around the Napoleon on Tripadvisor.
