Took the plunge!

Okay, so I've finally took the plunge and bought 30k RHC points that begin in 2010.

Here's my plan:

2010: Already have travel plans so I'll probably deposit into RCI or take a vacation to a drive to location.

2011: Roll points into 2012

2012: 2 weeks in Europe (Paris & Rome)_March

2013: Roll points into 2014

2014: 2 weeks in Ireland_March

2015: Points Expire

Do you all think these are reasonable expectations?

I loved the fact that I will only have these points for 5 years. I've heard lots of negative things about RHC and didn't want to be stuck with them forever if I ended up hating them. I, on the other hand, thought it was worth the try.

Because of the timeshare being free to me, even if I get any vacation time yearly, it's still worth it to me because I don't have to take "buy in" costs into consideration. To me, it was worth the gamble.

I would love to hear from all of you about any and everything you have to say or offer (positive or negative).

Thank you!

Sounds good. What will be the Temp. of Ireland in March? Is 2015 your last year? So you will get 2015's point?

You might do better depositing in SFX or TPI then RCI...

I could be wrong but I don't think you can roll your points every other year. The plan sounds good.

I paid $1.25 for my 40K, so mine is "free". Now you can buy resale RHC points free or "free". The real hassle is after you pay your MF, they say you still owe and cancel your reservation. Hasn't happened to me but RHC reputation is not too good.

Hey friend, everything okay with your latest reservation???? I hope so!

Did you pay the $500 transfer fee on your $1.25 purchase or was your total $1.25?
Just curious, not shopping!

They remove their operation rules. But from their website FAQ
What happens if I cannot travel one year because our baby was born, or I switched jobs, or I bought a house, or because next year we want to go to Europe and we need more Holiday credits?

You are free to save up your total number of Holiday credits for that year, as long as you use them within the following 12 months. We call this ACCUMULATING credits. You can do it one year yes and one year no—that is, every other year.
So the plan is doable.

I have read that RHC sometime does not confirm, so confirm on the size as stdio, so you may be in disadvantage if go through SFX.

But you can just post in this forums Timeshare Exchange Companies - Timeshare Forums, ask SFX or ask Trading place, or just read through it.

I have done it with both DAE and Redweek, sort of the same system. It is easy. You book your RHC week online and then deposit it with DAE or Redweek. For the first time, DAE will ask you to sign an authorization to fax to RHC by DAE, but subsequent deposit doesn't require this procedure. You can play with the number of points required by RHC and compare it with points Redweek offers or the unit DAE offers and do the cost calculation. I usually end up with one good week at a RHC destination in Europe and 1 to 2 deposits with DAE and Redweek per year.
