If I didn't know better, I'd think you were suggesting that I might be fabricating the sightings...luckily, I know you better.

Of the weeks I could search with that saw them all Before: one still sees them all (or, at least, what I assume to be "all"); a couple see all studios and 1BRs, plus a few 2BRs; a couple see only the odd studio here or there; and a couple see nada null zip zilch zero.

Edited to add: It will be interesting to see whether DVC inventory builds up over time After. We used to be pretty close to steady-state with deposits and withdrawals. Now that fewer deposits can see them, who knows?

Last edited by bnoble; 07-01-2009 at 07:57 AM. Reason: DVC inventory, not inventory generally.

Black Sunday did so, as I understand it. I was not around when it happened, but Steve's post suggests that's what happened:
http://www.timeshareforums.com/forum...en-sunday.html (Black Sunday / Golden Sunday)
Black Sunday, which for some was Golden Sunday, was a different situation. The South Africa RCI operation was a franchise and it did not use the same algorithim to determine trading power. That apparently had been done by guesswork. Black Sunday / Golden Sunday was simply when South Africa was brought into the same exchange mechanism as everyone else, applying the same algorithim, which helped some and hurt some. But the bottom line is that it was a move by RCI that was totally fair, unlike the current situation.

There are twice that many if you include extra vacations. The few I looked at are very expensive. $1100 for a 1BR in Florida in July? Whatever....

Of course I wasn't saying that. I was saying exactly what I was saying, that you appear to be the only one seeing beaucoup Disney, and that still appears to be the case, based on this thread.

My best trader, that was seeing 165K-170K before the enhancement, right now is seeing:

Thanks to Philsfan I have done some comparisons.

My deposit is one that has been a top trader, comparable to anyone's, that I purchased and first deposited two years ago. It is a Gold Crown, Peak Summer, 2-bedroom Branson week with a significant annual fee. I have deposited it with RCI specifically because it has been a top trader, to replace our previous top traders that got eunoched.

Philsfan's deposit is the perennial top trader, Aquamarine Villas.

Here is what I am seeing:

Escapes! to Stonebridge Village (#3402) 01-Jul-2009 to 31-Jul-2012 [143,981]

Florida [13298]

Southern Gulf Coast [300]

Can't see any DVC.

Here is what Philsfan is seeing:

Aquamarine Villas (#1207) 01-Jul-2009 to 31-Jul-2012 [153,174]

Florida [14697]

Southern Gulf Coast [308] (Two Club Regency's)

Disney's Beach Club Villas (#DV02) 9 available units

Disney's Boardwalk Villas (#DV03) 7 available units

Disney's Boardwalk Villas (#DV03) 7 available units

Disney's Old Key West Resort (#DV05) 33 available units

Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa (#DV06) 39 available units

The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge (#DV08) 12 available units

His total available exchanges (153,174) is still 15000 m/l less than I was seeing before the enhancement, but mine number (143,981) was hit significantly harder.

His Florida total (14697) is lower than it used to be, but, again, not as hard hit as mine (13298).

There is no question that the better stuff in SW FL has disappeared for all of us. That figure had been running around 600, and is now half of that. What's missing is the nice resorts, the Sanibels, HGVCs, South Seas, etc., although Philsfan can, strangely, see two units at Club Regency, one of those at the lower end of the better SWFL resorts.

I looked at Disney because ever since it became available earlier this year my SBV has been able to see copious numbers. Philsfan still can, but I can't see any. I also used to see some Animal Kingdom, but never many, so it's not unusual that he can't.

Anyway, if anyone cares, there's the analysis.

and today's lesson was: just because you are seeing them doesn't mean they are there.
