RCI Unit on hold You think it is?
I put a unit on hold for 24 hours yesterday and it did say the hold was confirmed but I had to return by the next days end to confirm it fully. Well I come back this afternoon to book it and it was not there. Lucky that I was able to get another unit.

I put a unit on hold about a week ago. When I went back later, but not a full day later, it was still there. RCI is really flaky anymore.

I had that with an exchange last year. I put it on hold and it disappeared during the same session--it was there and then it wasn't, and it wasn't listed as available either. Called RCI and they said someone else was trying to get the same week. The whole thing sounded nutty to me, but it did make me get out the credit card and confirm the exchange right then....

I have had it happen at least 5 times this year, but it only seems to happen when it is a super great week, I have wonderd if they just take them if they are on hold and book anyway?

On hold
Did you receive e-mail confirmation.
I always check if a week on hold shows up in my vacation plans in account file on RCI. Then I watch for e-mail confirmation, which usually comes right away. If I do not get both I call.

This has happened to me twice now. I am happy it worked out well for you Frank. My weeks were gone! Now I just confirm, and call within 24 hours if we can't use it.

I find the email arrives fast, but can take up to a hour to show up as held.

Before the 1 in 4, Manhattan Club was notorious for pulling weeks on hold (or RCI did the pulling, but TMC was not safe to "hold")
