What is the closest timeshare to Crater Lake? What is the best time of the year to go, etc.?

The closest timeshare would be Running Y in Klamath Falls. The next closest, and a more interesting/active area in general, would be in the SunRiver Resort area (about 2hrs north of CL, and about 10 miles south of Bend, OR). There are a few timeshares there (The Pines, Stoneridge Townhomes are a couple I can think of). About a half hour further north from SunRiver is Eagle Crest Resort in Redmond, OR.

IMHO, any time in July, August or early September would be a good time to visit Crater Lake.

Agreed! We visited CL when we stayed at Eagle Crest. Really nice resort and lots to do. CL is very beautiful. Definitely worth a trip there in the summer. When we were there the July 4th week, some areas up there still have snow on the ground.
