Blizzard Warning for Washington DC, MD, VA

Feb 5, 2010 Friday Afternoon 4:00 PM

Blizzard Warnings Friday & Saturday for
Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia

Super Storm

Snow may reach 20"-25"
Possible 25"-30" or more

Winter Weather Alert

Things You'll Need

Survival Kit..

A Trip to the Grocery Store
A Trip to the Gas Station
Snow Shovel or Snowblower
Flashlight and Batteries

Get plenty of non-perishable, ready-to-eat food.
And remember the manual can opener! Store water.
You'll want one gallon of water per each person per day

Begin by filling your cars with gasoline.
Get gas for the snowblower and emergency generators.
A snowblower is useless without gasoline

Find the snow shovel! Dig out the snow shovel and keep it handy.
Keep an extra blanket, water, food, a little bit of sand and shovel
in your car at all times.

Charge the cell phone. You may lose home phone service during a snow storm and you'll
need your cell phone battery charged to call for help in the event of an emergency.
Portable phones are useless without power! So dig out the hard line phone just in case.

Be sure to check on friends and family and let everyone know you are ok!
Please be careful and stay home and watch the (local) weather channel..

Note: As of 4 PM
Airports in the DC, MD, VA are still Open!
Please call ahead to check on your flight.

This storm may rival The Great Knickerbocker Storm
DC Blizzard that occurred on January 27–28, 1922.
