It's not unusual for owners at dual-affiliated resorts (or with multiple resorts) to ask, "Which exchange company should I use?" A common response is, "Where do you want to go? The various exchange companies each have their niches, with better inventory in some locations than in others."

So, by seeing desirable resorts, like the DVC resorts, some people may opt to join a particular exchange company and deposit their week, if they think they'll have a good chance of trading in to those resorts. It may not make a huge difference but it makes sense to me as a business move. We can disagree.

I am a DVC owner and was also upset to see the II change to RCI. I don't see many resorts that I consider on the same level as DVC except for the Marriotts and we can't exchange into them anymore.
You may want to post a desire to trade into a DVC resort here and see what happens. I met a wonderful person on these boards and we exchanged my DVC for her Marriott. It can be a better option for both and you can make new friends. Ofcourse you have to have trust in who you trade with. Good luck with your trades.
