Since I last posted, I did manage to find a number and called the company to see if we can just let them have the property back. They do not buy back properties. His suggestion was to sell it. We have tried but have had no luck at all. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get out from under this timeshare mess and get rid of the property, obligation and hassle? We had good intentions but that has fallen through and now want out.

Have you look at eBay to see how many of your resort was there? and if there is any bid on that?

Also you never answer my question if yours has unpaid mortgage on it. If you have, stop the payment, let them know your situations, and ask them to take it off your hand.

I'm not too sure if her developer and/or lender would take the property back. I would think, if you do stop the payment and be 60-90 days late someone will try to get ahold of you and work out a payment plan that would work for you. And worse case, the options available or offered wouldn't help your situation a whole lot. But try it anyway, if there are no available options for you at this time.

Just an update...

I'm free from my timeshare. And I'm really grateful. I didn't get all my money back but at least I got a quarter of it. Nothing is impossible.

Just curious. How did you become free of your timeshare?

Congratulations.
