Orange Lake 3BR help or other 3BR RCI resort

I am trying to find a good 3BR for my husband's sibling reunion next May. They want to stay in the same room (8 total). I have seen mixed reviews of Orange Lake over the years and when I look at RCI extra vacations I see East Village and North Village for 3BR right now.

Would you pick OL (and which village?) over Grand Beach or Cypress Point? I want the resort to be nice and have a nice pool and also hoped for BBQ grills.

My other option is to wait and book maybe a Marriott through II but I am afraid to get too close to the date and be left with nothing...but two 2BR units may work too. We always enjoy the Marriotts.

TIA!

Talking We just stayed in a 3 bedroom East Village

and it was fine. The bedrooms are a master with a King Bed, a kids room with 2 doubles, and another master type with a king. There are 2 sleeper sofas in the living room, but as to privacy you really only have 4 sleeping areas. The North and East Village along with River Island are nice, however OL has no BBQ's period, none.

fwiw,

Greg

OL West is the one that takes heat. East or North would be fine; I would probably slightly prefer North. Orange Lake also has more going on at the resort than does Grand Beach or Cypress Pointe, which may or may not matter to you.

Another thought---depending on when in May you are looking, that could the lowest point season for Wyndham. A 4BR presidential unit at Bonnet Creek would be fabulous, and not terribly expensive for those first 2 weeks.

Wow, that would be great. Are those ever on Extra Vacations? They are splitting it 8 ways so my guess is the cost is fine. They are actually only going to be there Wed - Sun too.

although I loved Cypress Pointe Phase One 3BDRM I wouldn't book it for 8 adults. The master and lock-off studio are gorgeous suites. That 2nd bedroom is very tiny with a trundle bed.

Brian is right OLCC gets beat to death and rightly so for West Village units. However there is an odor in one of the newer sections and it's not pleasant although the units are.

Brian's sugestion for WYN Bonnet Creek is excellent but the chances of a 4BR Presidential through RCI are slim and none. You would have to rent from an owner.

Sheraton's Vistana might be another option as well as the HGVCs.

East Village

I stayed in a 3 bedroom at East Village last summer and once about 5 years ago. The unit I stayed in last year really needed updated, plus we had a bug problem. OLCC is a big place with lots of activities. I think I posted a review here about our stay.

No, you'd need to rent from an owner---and you might need to find someone with home resort priority at Bonnet Creek. Those 4BRs don't last long into the 10-month standard window.

Yes but those are also not a common thing to get through RCI. Often see 2BR, you might want to get two. It's a beautiful resort from all accounts and the only closer is of course the on site DVCs.
