Housekeeping will move the twin beds together and put queen size sheets over them if you ask.

That might be good enough if I can't get a regular bigger bed. Thanks for the info!

I am going to wait to call until mid-Sept. I figure asking this far out won't really do any good anyway, as they aren't all that thrilled with requests as it is.

I requested the same thing, a bigger bed in the 2nd bdr for SIL, they completely ignored me. That's how I know about housekeeping being willing to help out...

This thread could be dated 10 years ago, and I don't believe it would change much.

The Galleon assigns units, and discussions over the years suggest contacting them does not help.

When I did they did not reply.

Thirsty,

Are you back? How was your trip? Unit? Any restaurant recommendations -- quiet/romantic/good food and/or good people watching/good food? Good dancing/clubbing spots?

Philsfan,

if you still have the site map in electronic form, I would very much appreciate an email.

Thanks

When we were there a couple of years ago, there was some mustiness, and as a result I thought that the mattress and pillows needed replacing, but other than that it was terrific.

DH and his buddy are just back from the Galleon. They LOVED it. Couldn't have been happier. They had a 2 bedroom (king in master and queen in 2nd bedroom), overlooking the marina, small balcony, etc.

I don't know if this is new but I did recieve a call a few days before check in date from the resort aking me if I had any requests. By then I didn't care what the 2nd bed set up was as the buddy had invited along another friend and they weren't sure how they were going to arrange sleeping so I figured I ddn't have to worry about. The point being that I didn't make a request so do not know if the asking was "for real" or not on the resort's part. Anyone one else get that phone call? Are they now trying to meet guests requests?

This is the 1st time I've heard of them doing this, calling you asking for requests & since they did ask you & ya didn't request any particular unit, look what ya got, the view with king & queen beds! I'd say this was very good but maybe it was due to the non-season, being slow & all of that.

Regardless, glad they had a good time in Key West & they got a great unit with the view of the Gulf!

The unit had apparently already been assigned, although I had no idea of this as my RCI confirmation didn't state a pre-assigned unit number. Basically I got the call (a woman) saying she was from the Galleon and she sees that I am checking in on Saturday.... do I have any requests. When I said no but that I had previousy thought I would be asking them for a unit with a queen in the 2nd bed but didn't need that anymore, she volunteered that the unit assigned had the king and the queen beds. I said great. And that was the whole conversation aside from a little chit-chat, us both living in South Florida. She was pleasant voiced and easy to talk to and at least gave the impression that she was open to requests. Oh, I just remembered, she did offer cribs and roll aways... this might be useful info to someone else here.

Maybe this is a new trend for the Galleon! This was "our" first stay at the Galleon and it made a great impression. The boys are eager to go back.
