Thanks for sharing. We own there but have yet to stay there! We've been tempted with other destinations like Hawaii (April, 2005) and Aruba (2 more months!!), but I'm sure we'll get there eventually.

Exchanging to Aruba

Do you think a 2 bd non lockoff at Cypress Harbour is going to get exchanges like a Two Bd lockoff at Grande Vista? Is it the season or the resort which matters more, do you think, or does the season not matter if you deposit it?
I am trying to decide between Ocean Point, Cypress Harbour, Grande Vista, or Hilton Head disney..Its tough, but I want the best exchange timeshare, but not sure I want to spend the extra money on Ocean POint. I also have three small kids, so asking for ARUBA at a certain time of year, rather than any time of year, is somewhat important.
Thanks

Hyatt Hacienda Del Mar

Is the Hyatt Hacienda Del Mar likely more popular for exchanging into Interval than a non-carribean timeshare? I could also purchase that for exchanging but the season is Bronze even though the resort sounds phenomenal.

Kelly, I personally do not think that Marriott Cypress Harbor will be AS strong at trader as Grande Vista is...but I have no personal experience. OP would be the best of these 3 but it comes with a hefty pricetag....Grand Vista can be gotten for Platinum resales of 12-14K and probably less....Why not post on the marriott Board to see if there are any Cypress Harbor owners here to confirm their trade experiences....and CH would have to be from Feb1-Easter to be a REALLY good trader.

But FWIW, it can be VERY hard to get a 2BR Marriott during kids school vacation periods.....because people either use them for their own use or lock-off and trade...if it is your goal to go to Aruba, it might be better to look for a reasonable 2BR resale and even consider non Marriotts....look ar Casa Del Mar...not fancy but a BIG 2BR with great ocean views....and you buy a fixed week and unit...no surprises!

Season matters. I used to own a Gold week Cypress Harbor; was very disappointed with its trading power so I sold it and bought Platinum on Hilton Head (summer). Aruba is more accessible in late spring (May and June) and fall, harder during prime season. There has been more availability this year due to developer deposits of the unsold Surf Club weeks, but that won't last long.
