Deposit to RCI now?

Bad timing for me! I just closed on a midsummer island park village week starting 2010, and now RCI goes into freak mode. Should I wait a week or so to see if trade power fluctuations settle down? I have plenty of traders in II, really wanted access to Grand Mayan and some Wyndham properties, so want to deposit into RCI. My instinct is to wait a few days.

What do you mean RCI went into freak mode. I just bought a TS for points for deposit.

Go with your instinct. I'd wait for a couple weeks. Since it's a summer 2010, you're fine to wait

Hi Wayzer, welcome to timeshare forums. This week, RCI has been giving folks a runaround with large variances in trade power and some unexpected reductions. It is related to an "enhancement" they made in their website.

I'm holding off on my August 2010 weeks for a bit to see what shakes out.

I always figure on depositing about a year out, so you would be fine to wait.

Today was not good for depositing

Since it seemed things had normalized at RCI, I called this AM to deposit my new week that should be a tiger. The total units available to exchange online was 2,645. I called in a few minutes later since that was clearly a glitch. VC said she could see lots of exchanges on her computer although not what I requested (Xmas, New Years 2010, Kona). A minute later she tried to check some alternative dates and could see nothing at all for me. Even she recommended that I withdraw the deposit and try again later, so I did.

I hadn't read this thread...but I'm holding off on depositing my summer 2010 weeks. Honestly, I deposited so, so early last time, probably 14 or 15 months out, and it made absolutely zero difference in my trading power from the time I deposited eight months out.
