Raintree Vacation Club
I'm an owner of a ski week with Whiski Jack Resort in Whistler. I love my home resort, but find I would like to exchange into other ski weeks. Their "umbrella" club option is Raintree Vacation Club, which includes resorts in Park City, Jackson Hole, Las Vegas, Hawaii, and Palm Springs. I have found it's difficult to get good ski weeks through a typical exchange company (eg, RCI or SFX); I'm hoping the "internal exchange" opportunity at RVC would mean better chance of getting good ski weeks.
Does anyone have any experience with such a membership? It's about US$3000 to upgrade my ownership and become a member of RVC--but I'd be willing tp pay that if it meant getting into these other ski resorts during ski season.

raintree and whiskijack
I am afraid I cannot help you with your question but I, too, am a Whisk jack, ski week only (fixed) and have had some misgivings about the administration at Whiski jack in connection with the Raintree club and timesharing.
so my apologies in advance for 'hijacking' your post, but I think this may be a worthwhile discussion for fellow whiskijack owners.
Last time I was in Whistler, Whiski Jack left a message for me about a very special offer exclusive to WJ owners. To be certain that I was not wasting my time with some 'new' timeshare offer, I asked them unambiguously if they were going to waste my time with some 'new' timeshare offer and they insisted they were not. So I made and appointment and guess what. They were there to pitch me a 'new' timeshare offer - something about how I never used RVC when it was free the first year of my ownership , but now under new association/ownership with raintree, I could give them more money to be part of raintree/RVC etc - I tuned out as soon as they started their pitch.
Today, I got a letter invting me to attend a 'special meeting regarding the changes taking place at whiski Jack'. When I called they would not disclose what the meeting was about but insisted on confirming my attendance at this meeting.
Do you or any other Whiski Jack owners know anything about this?
Are they trying to pull a fast one?
What is so important about this meeting that they insist that I attend?
Obviously, it can be of no benefit to owners if they are so insistent, right?
anyone's thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks,
CK

I just found this thread after learning that my Park Plaza resort can be used in Raintree VC. No way am I going to pay $3000 to join. But if there are any Whiski Jack owners that would like to do a direct exchange for 2008, please PM me...
Also, does anyone know if there is any kind of trading priority in RCI for Raintree resorts like there is with VRI? Otoh, I should probably have my head examined before giving RCI my Park City ski week when I am looking for such a specific trade....
Finally, any ideas of the best place to look for a direct exchange? I posted one in the the classifieds, but is there a Raintree Yahoo Group, etc...?

Glitter,
Among the usual places that are normally used, like TUG and here on TS4MS, have you looked at Timex? It allows you to seek direct exchanges between owners.

When I when thru a presentation at Whiski Jack several years ago, they said there was a priority in RCI for other Whiski Jack owners ( and therefore I assume now Raintree ?)

I'm also a whiskijack owner (snowbird), have used my week for years without trading, wanted to know how. Ended up SIGNING (dumb?) a form to reject a "special upgrade offer" ($6000+ for 200K pts). Raintree person said that they had my signature on file and could prove that I had attended the meeting and refused the offer whether I signed or not- still wish I hadn't.
So what was all that about?
