Old trees are new again

Check-in-staff (front desk staff) look very professional. Ms. Shevanassa, front desk supervisor was very courtesy and professional.

Wow - you notice details! Those trees were "rescued" from the old sales trailer area that is being converted to the new recreation/picnic area. They do add a nice look around the pond. We hope they take root. It seemed a shame to just bulldoze them so they were moved.

John, you used to be President of the HOA, didn't you? Are you still?
It really makes no sense that Vacation Village at Parkway is Gold Crown and Cypress Pointe is only Silver Crown. (Well, it makes sense in that the Vacation Village group has more clout with RCI, but the rankings certainly don't reflect resort quality.) I just got back from Vacation Village at Parkway and it's on my "Do not return" list. (Crowded, very noisy, few amenities, parking was difficult, and my room hadn't been cleaned well. Also, the pool had so many people jammed into it that the water was cloudy. Yuck!)

Judy - Yes, I still have that privilege.
The RCI rankings are at best weak guidelines as the resorts that play for top ranks or a cozy developer relationship seem to count the most. It's too bad as they could be a great value to owners and guests alike but as it is there are too many discrepancies between the ratings and the actual resort experience. Some of that is due to the different expectations of incoming guests and perhaps small things that can happen during a visit but not enough to explain some of the wildly out-of-whack results often seen. We still strive for Gold Crown but have to take whatever the rules say we earned.

The Board at CPR has prided itself on open communication and updates for owners and guests. For some reason we can't grasp many resorts/Boards seem to feel it is better to hide information. In our experience the more you inform the more likely the results are good. It takes effort to do but we feel it's well worth it.

I just came back from Orlando. I stayed in CPR(I) and Grand Beach resort.
I think that CPR(I) is soso. The room is not too clean and not providing free cleaning room service during the mid week. You can request but you need to pay $100. A lot of kids. In the room, you can hear people talking and walking very clear from next unit.
Grand Beach resort is super nice. Just like the room of Sedona Summit Sunset View. Free providing cleaning service during the mid-week.
The front desk staff is super nice. Rooms are super clean and new style. I love it. You can't hear people talking and walking from next unit or upstair. Also, less kids.

When I stayed at Cypress Pointe (I) a couple of years ago, the unit was quite clean. Of course, any resort can have a unit be not-so-clean, since it depends on the individual housekeepers. I once had a Disney room (not DVC, hotel) where it really seemed that the housekeeper had gotten distracted and left before finishing. (We asked to be moved to another room, and were.)
As for noise, I heard noise at Cypress Pointe (I) from the other side of our lock-off, but not from any other units.

Not the way it should be

Very important question as one of the absolutes of the General Manager at CPR is that every unit be immaculate. Every time. If it isn't it will be done and someone will hear about the problem. I have come to appreciate that level of care at CPR as all too often (thinking specifically of Wyndham and Wastegate) cleaning seems to be superficial at best. Not the case at CPR and if a unit got a substandard job I KNOW management would want to be notified immediately. It can happen anywhere but if it does give them a chance to fix it.
