Beaches in California - includes photo's of many CA beaches & camping guide
California Beaches Travel Information: California contains about 1,000 miles of beaches that include flat, sandy expanses or rocky shores. The beaches are diverse and beautiful along the California Coast. Best of all, there are hundreds of miles of oceanfront bathing, swimming and surfing beaches with a warm climate tourists can enjoy all year long. Framed by the Pacific Ocean, sights include bejeweled Santa Barbara, Sonoma Wine Country next to foggy Mendocino with its majestic redwoods, trendy Los Angeles, Hollywood and Rodeo Drive shops, Disneyland, laid-back Huntington Beach, sunny San Diego and surf crazy Santa Cruz. We show these treasures in pictures but also visit the Sacramento, Gold Country, Redding, South Lake Tahoe and even Big Bear Lake. California is a treasure trove of things for tourists to see and do.
The perfect California Beach Vacation isn't an accident. Great planning with the wealth of resources provided by expert California travel specialists guarantees you the best beach vacation along the spectacular California Coast of the United State (USA). This factual, informative guide includes California Beach and City alphabetical list for quick searching. Listed by teachers as a student resource for California destination information, the California Beach Photo Tour began in 1996 and has grown to become one of the most comprehensive travel publications in existence. California Events includes fun things to do, fairs, festivals, celebrations, parades and events throughout the State of California. Great tours include Whale Watching, Hollywood Stars Home Tour and San Diego Trolley, to name a few!

That's a great website - we're off to Oceanside this summer so just took a look at a few pictures.
Thanks much.

Timeshare and Beach Camp Tip.....
I know most of us are spoiled with our timeshares and camping just seems much less luxurious than our digs in our condo.......but do you remember when you had fun around the campfire telling stories, making smores, and kickin it in the tent right by the beach?????......ok, ok...cold or no shower, ice chests, gas lanterns, a hard bed, no feeling of complete security behind the locked doors of your timeshare condo.....
How about the best of both worlds????
We have not done this yet but have been thinking about it. Carlsbad Seapointe Resort is just accross the street from South Carlsbad State Beach and Campground......and we have a fixed week at CSR so could very well get ahead of the curve and rent a camp site right by the beach and accross from our timeshare condo....ahhhh....a pool, kitchen, shower, and a bed when needed....and if we really want to...go accross the street and have a camping experience with a tent to store our beach stuff and a fire ring with firewood for that camping experience.....and when the kids get older they can have friends over....stay in the tent at the campground, and we get the condo to ourselves....and the ability to keep an eye on those rascals.
And they can come back to the comforts of home when they feel like it.
We may try it one of these days....has anyone else done this? Are there any other timeshares that are that close to a campgrounds like CSR?

Ken,
That was quite a story about Hawaii and camping....or should I say not camping......
I think I still like the fixed week idea middle of summer in Cali next to the timeshare....but I am not that inspired to try it yet.

Camping in Cali
I live two hours from Oceanside and I had no idea there was still camping allowed anywhere on the beach. Great info.
