Four Seasons Aviara--2005
My kind of place. Spacious (2BR), well equipped, lovely pools with poolside service for drinks, food and cold cloths for the forehead. Restaurant/Bars at lodge are outstanding. A perfect 10.

Mariott Newport Coast -- 2006
Ocean view from balcony in 2BR very nice. Typical M quality. Lovely grounds/pools. Staff very friendly and efficient.

San Luis Bay Inn -- 2007 (Owner)
Laid back elegance in our Sunterra 2BR. Quiet yet close to shops/restaurants in Avila Beach.

Bringing an old thread alive. Anyone have a Santa Barbara area TS suggestion? Don't like Ventura but north of there would be nice.

Thanks.

Katherine

I don't know of any timeshares near Santa Barbara. The closest one to the north would be San Luis Bay Inn at Avila Beach ( San Luis Obispo ) which is not near Santa Barbara.

I have not stayed here nor have really seen it up close.....so if someone wants to make comments.....nice area I know that.
The Hotel part of the resort was closed for updating. However, this is a nice resort with a great location. The trains are loud but the view of the ocean we had from unit 604 was great. You do have to climb stairs (about 40 steps) to get to unit 604. On a scale of 1 to 10, it is a 8 or 9. The train and the stairs being the reason for not being higher. I would go back again.

Give me a few days and I will post some pictures.

Walt

Thanks for the feedback.

A friend of ours was just at the Four Seasons Aviara and gave us a tour.....very nice place and very nice rooms. No ocean view of any kind so that is a downer. It definately ranks in the resort luxury class but there are other resorts that I would stay at first.

Four Seasons Aviara is my families favorite resort, my boys 8,10,13,14 all agree, I think they like that we let them roam and all the free video games The rooms are nice, but the hotel amenities are what we really enjoy. That said, if we want to go somewhere for the beach, it is not on our radar. It ius hard to beat seeing sand and ocean right in front of your window.

Our order of preference:

4 Seasons Aviara
Newport Coast Villas
Lawrence Welk Resort Escondido although it technically is not anywhere near the coast.

I love the Aviara too. Did you trade into this or do you own there?
