I just added a link to the first post on this thread. It includes many SD area attractions and restaurants. SCC is located in south Orange County near the San Diego County Border:

I live 30 min. south of San Diego in Rosarito Beach, Mexico. If you want views like mine with a Mexican flavor, let me know, and I'll give advice on how to visit and have a great time.

Sounds great. Start some new relevant threads. Probably belongs in the Mexico forum unless we want to make it North Baja 'California' angle close to San Diego.....

A few questions re. SD

As we will be staying at the Four Seasons Aviara starting this Saturday, we will be driving to San Diego at least two times. We plan to stop by Old Town San Diego as I have been told it is a beautiful place. Could someone tell us about a few places around SD where parking is inexpensive and secure?

I will be checking out the links provided in the original post, but if you have recommendations about places (especially events) that may be of interest, please do post. Thanks. (We will be in the area until January 2nd.)

If you like musical theater check out Boomers in Downtown San Diego. Lots of fun. Get there early for trivia and give aways.

Just got back from a month starting in Phoenix and ended with a week at Wavecrest, Del Mar. I can recommend 3 restaurants in the Del Mar area and all three have certificates that can be found on restaurant.com (plan a little in advance and get $25 certs for $2):
Trattoria Ponte Vecchio - tasty Italian; a little pricey without $25 gift certificate
Pacifica - priced right for lunch, greta seafood and decent ocean views
Elijah's - Del Mar Heights road (shopping plaza) - good deli food, just like bubby makes!
enjoy ,
Steve
