New Resorts???

We just did our "update" at The Fountains". More like, they just wanted us to upgrade from Silver to Gold anyway we could. Gave us 3 different options, so we could start paying a little right away. We said NO. Just couldn't do it at this time... hopefully in the future we will.

Anyway thats really all that was covered. Earlier in the week, we ran into one of the "salespeople" with a newbie. He mentioned 36 new resorts... but of course couldn't disclose any real information. Said we would find out at our "update". Then, the next day in the pool, we were talking to a couple & they told us about the 36 new resorts - another one in Williamsburg is all I remember. They had upgraded from Bronze to Silver.

I guess, we weren't privvy to that informations since we didn't "upgrade", and I forgot to mention it while we were there.

Does anyone have information or know where they are & when they will be available. I'm assuming it may be over a period of years, but not sure.

TIA
Bev

New Resorts .....

We were at the The Fountains in June for the sales presentation (which by the way was done well without pressure). While we were in the middle of the presentation, one of the 'managers' starting pulling some the reps aside. Our rep came back and said, 'Well, I was going to give you information on new sites, but the manager said not to give information out at this time'. I guess we will have to wait to see what's up.

This was just, June 27, we had the update... Heard it from the salesperson & the people in the pool, Sunday before. Just curious if anyone else had heard.

We also did not really feel pressured at all. Our salesperson, was good as answering some questions we had & also gave us the offers from her manager. He did come over, but understood, we couldn't do it at this time & that was it.

I just wish I had remembered to ask about the "36".

First and foremost, whatever you hear in an owner's update regarding new resorts is usually only about 50% correct. The problem is you don't know what 50% is correct vs. not. Remember, sales guys are usually the last to know because they will be the first to sell vaporware to close a deal.

Regarding new resorts, I do believe that Bluegreen has some new initiatives under way to get us new resorts. At this time, I haven't confirmed what I have heard, so I would rather not repeat rumors. Suffice it to say that we should be hearing something soon regarding some new initiatives in this area.

If I had a wish for locations, I would like more in the upper midwest. I have only CMV within a days drive. Everything else it two days drive or fly. Air and rental car are costly so we are trying to avoid them for a while.

I would also like something out west. There is Lake Condominiums (club assoc. resort) and the Select Connections resorts in CA and a couple other places, but we have limited access to anything in Washington, Oregon, Montana, Wyoming. I do know there isn't a lot of resorts out there at all. I know there are some skiing locations there, and Yellowstone, but beyond that, not sure what the attractions might be.

Whenever the resorts are announced, please let us know. I am afraid it could be a very cold day, freezing might be a good word, before would I attend another 'owner update'.

I'd love to see Colorado and further west! We'd love to see stuff around some of the larger national parks (Moab, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, etc.). Also would love to see some New England properties..

Heck.. why not one or two in every state, haha.

Additions at Big Cedar

We stayed at Big Cedar in Mid May and noticed what appeared to be a nice construction office trailer being installed at a location near some empty ground. During our update I asked if they were getting ready to add on additional units and they told me they didnt know of any. I then went and asked the guy setting up the construction office and he said they were getting ready to build additional cabins to the west of the upper lodges.

I'm sure Boca is right when he says that they sales folks are kept in the dark so they cant sell what is not there. But be forewarned, there are new cabins being added to the Big Cedar site.

We did an update last week at Lodge Alley. For what it's worth the 2 sales people we talked to said one of the new locations was in Dennisport, MA. He said they had just been told but didn't know anything else about it. Also, there was going to be a new location in Williamsburg(not at the Patrick Henry location) Finally he said the company that owned the place in Dennisport also had a location in the Bahamas, that Bluegreen was going to buy into. Like I said , "For What it's worth".

Smile

I will re-itterate what BocaBum has said. Do not believe what you hear at the updates. I have been told numerous stories that I knew were false as they were being presented with a straight face. I was once told that I could book into the Manhattan Club for about 700 to 800 points per night. As for new resorts, my best advice is to wait for BocaBum to inform us when it happens.
