What Bluegreen Resorts Are You Going To This Summer?

Sister Syl used to post a "Where are you going?" kind of thing every once in a while and hasn't in some time, so I thought I'd continue the tradition. I'd like to know what resorts you're going to and also if you've been there before.

Not technically summer (we're not much for summer vacations), but we're going to finish out our Sampler at Harbour Lights in Myrtle Beach. We're in the process of purchasing resold points, and I'm biting my nails hoping that it'll clear early enough we can get a place for my parents out there at the same time (I have no idea how likely that is).

And there are unused 2008 points with it that'll expire the end of this year that no one we've offered them to wanted (apparently family and friends share my habit of planning ahead

), so we thought we might try to blow those on a room at Carolina Grand and/or Shore Crest, or maybe even Sea Glass, so we could have a place right off the beach to shower and what not, and maybe eldest son and I (the early risers of the family) would stay a night and get up early to see the sun rise over the ocean and check out early morning beachiness.

What are you looking forward to?

I'm going to the Fountains in July and Harbour Lights in September, never been to either one.

Big Cedar at Labor Day
Lodge Alley in October
Patrick Henry in December
Hammocks at Marathon Christmas Day
Solara at Miami for New Years

I am real excited about the above trips!!! This is my first year as a BG owner and I have so much to look forward to...

I'm trying for Branson at the 4th of July but I waited too long. I am having to learn to plan my trips more in advance.

We have been to Fountains. Kids loved the pool and the water slides. Heading out in July to Grande Villas in St Augustine for an anniversary weekend. Then looking forward to using points on a hot week for an end of summer getaway.
2010 will start out nicely as we are taking our bible study group to the houses at Long Creek.

Branson was our first vacation with Bluegreen and ended up at Falls Village because we didn't plan well. Loved the resort and had an awesome time.

I booked a couple weeks at CMV, one for rent-still unrented, and one for exchange through SFX. Going to Napa to learn about and drink wine.

I saw in the last bluegreen email newsletter of the new select connections places, Salado Creek Villas in San Antonio, Texas and Crotched Mountain Resort in Francestown, New Hampshire. I know nothing about them, but may have to look into them for a possible trip. Well...not Texas. I can't think of any reason to go to Texas.

We'll be at Harbour Lights Sept 14-18 - it wasn't our first choice (because of how the Sampler interacted with hubby's schedule rather than because of availability per se), but now I'm used to the idea I'm getting psyched.

That's quite a list! I'm curious to hear how your Labor Day weekend goes. A lot of the most negative reviews I've seen (not just for Bluegreen) were from people visiting where ever on Holiday weekends. We don't vacation on holidays to speak of, but now I'm with Bluegreen, I'm actually considering holiday weekends myself for various reasons, so how well Bluegreen handles that crush is getting more pertinent.

Wow! I don't see the appeal of some of the Presidential suites (not enough windows for me), but the ones at Long Creek are a definite exception to that rule. They look stunner.

I poked around the Shell Vacation Club site at one point and was disappointed by the percentage that didn't have full kitchens and whatnot. Didn't check the Texas ones but as I recall Crotched Mountain was one of the ones that sounded more on par with what I value in Bluegreen.

Headed to Harbour Lights in July and to CMV the week after Christmas. Possibly to Mt. Loft or Laurel Crest in October. What is the best ski deal to get while at CMV??

We did CMV May 24-31 it was a great time in a two bedroom townhouse.
Do the Fountains July 3-10 in one of the original buildings on lake eve.
Then heading to Shenandoah Crossing July 11-18, our first time there.
We then take a few months off before...
Heading to Big Cedar Dec 25 to Jan 1 in a 2bedroom.
We also have Long Creek Dec 28 to Jan 1 for a family reunion.
We also have a 3bedroom at Surrey resorts in Branson as an overflow. RCI ex

It should be a great year.
