The info you've given in this post should be mandatory reading for anyone coming to these forums. Even though I've read most of your posts, this one was somehow different, answered all the buying questions we've ever had, and was extremely clear.
You've explained it very well and it's easy to understand and absolutely necessary in order to navigate these murky waters. As always, thanks for the unselfish advice and honest help. We'll continue to talk here at home, and when my wife and i decide to pull the trigger and upgrade - it will of course be with you. Everything the sales people tell us you already know and we have not fallen for their gimmicks because you prepared us to go in there. When they share the truth, you affirm it, and when they share untruths or stretch the truth, now we can see through it. We are so far ahead of the game now due to this forum, the yahoo forum, and your patience. Thanks!

I think that the minimum amount you can buy is 3000 points when you tradein. Contact Jim in the message before you. He will help you.

Just an update to this thread. As of August 21, 2009, Bluegreen changed the rules for upgrading accounts via its authorized reseller. It is no longer possible to make resale points count toward Premier if they were purchased AFTER Feb 21, 2007 and they weren't upgraded BEFORE, Aug 21, 2009.
In other words, it is no longer possible to remove the red from resale accounts.
All points must be purchased from Pinnacle Vacations or Bluegreen to count toward Premier status.
If you have any points that do not qualify for Premier, send me a private message and I'll provide you with the options available for your account.

Boca,
Can you still "trade in" resale contracts with BG or Pinnacle, buy some more points, and get "new" contracts on different unit/weeks and have all of the "new" contracts count towards premier?
