Has bluegreen taken over Club La Pension in NO?
Apparently someone from CMV is being transfered to head up marketing at Club La Pension in New Orleans. I was unaware that Bluegreen had that resort. Exactly what is the set up there?
Incidently, at the employee meeting, absolutely no mention was made of the possible buyout by DRI.

Where? I can't find anything in NO, on the resort locator or the resort listing.

there must be enough unsold time at the resort to warrant sending someone to be in charge of marketing.
We stayed there before Katrina.
It is a great location, we had a great time.

Even if there was nothing available for sale at a resort, they still have a sales staff and they sell inventory that is available at any/all of the resorts (except for Big Cedar where they will sell you other resorts, but apparently that is the only place you can be deeded to Big Cedar is by buying there). It makes no sense for BG to have a sales office/staff at a resort they don't own and only have claim to a few intervals at the resort.
I understand from a friend who's hubby was marketing exec at Mtn. Run and was transferred to Atlantic City just this summer that what he does is look for partner hotels, set up the promos for new owners, potential owners (referrals) and the owner parties, etc. His job is to lay the groundwork to get the people there so the sales staff can get them in to sell to them! He creates the "hook".
Sales and Marketing.............though it seems the same titles to me, they are different departments within Bluegreen.
I received my monthly e-mail BG owner update yesterday and in it included many things (which I posted on the BG yahoo group) but one was the announcement of New Orleans and that they weren't taking reservations but had a link to the page on the BG web site too. (The one that has been referred to here.) But of course no points list!

It makes good business sense for BG to have a sales office any place where they can bring in enough people to sell points and make a profit. It doesn't matter if they own the whole resort, own just a few units, or are standing on a street corner. If they can sell there, it makes good business sense.
If they can sell enough points in Minneapolis so that they can open a resort in San Francisco, it also benefits me.

The marketing manager at CMV saidf they may have access to 100 rooms in a building right next door. 've ben there, but can't figure out waht it is.
At the employee meeting on Tuesday, no mention of any takeover, no comments from the new general manager.
On Wed, we heard the New New general manager had just arrived from Washington to take over the management of the rsort. all this seems odd if the ownership will change to DRI in one month.
the in house sales got an award for selling 81% of prospects in July.
