Yay...just in time for the big snow! It's actually really good that it didn't break tomorrow....

Stay warm
Sounds to me like you did fine. Mine was like $800 for same day service but included a pan and pipe so that when it goes next time it will drain into the french drain.
Enjoy the impending snow. It will probably just be flurries. As long as I can catch my flight to Florida on Saturday, I don't care!

Yup, got the new water heater, a new pressure tank, new tub drain assembly, some new pipes and fittings, and holes in my wall and ceiling which now have to be fixed. All for the grand total of $1179 which I think is a darn good deal.

Glad it all worked out.
We changed out our 15yr old water heater before we had problems as some of our neighbors had the leaks and we all bought new homes in our tract so we knew it was time....their troubles warned us of impending problems.
We got ours at Home Depot, GE, gas, 50 gal, 12 yr warranty, and got a handyman to install which totaled out to about $800 for everything including pan, earthquake straps, etc.
So you all did fine.
