Yeah, us, too. I keep old gallon bottles from milk or vinegar or whatever to use to flush (and a separate stash of potable water). With all the snow, there should be a ready supply of water to, um, "send it on down."

The winds concern me as it doesn't take but one tree to knock our power out, and since there are not many of us affected, we are way down on the list to get power restored. A tree blocking the road is also possible. I would rather be stuck at home than stuck not being able to get home.

This morning's snow, not a big deal. Will probably leave early today, tho, as it will be too treacherous to go that last 2 miles if we have 9" since we do not get plowed.

I remember an ice storm here several years ago that took trees down on both directions on our road. No power, no water, no heat and stuck at home---what do you eat ? I was on the phone a few times and they finally got one tree out of the road so I could get out and get to Mkydees (they have a generator here).

At 11:15 today, they closed all schools in the New York City Public School system, a very rare thing - I guess they feel we are REALLY going to get hit!

They notified us at 2 pm today that our schools are closed tomorrow - probably will pass us by now.

DS is doing the happy dance. We will see if he is still dancing when he gets sent out to shovel tomorrow.

Forecast has changed from 8 inches to 18

Let me change that back to windy, very, very windy. & cold.

If you get this with a buncha snow already on the ground, good luck.

We are above average of snowfall for the year to date. First time in a long time. We start with snow in October and it stays until April.

We had 46 hours of continual snow fall starting on Sunday and ending on Tuesday. Not a big dumping like the east, but 6-10 inches over 3 rush hours. I had to snow blow the driveway 3 times. Drifting was over the top of the snow blower.

Due to the amount of snow that has fallen this year, the street can not be cleared curb to curb. The City of Minneapolis has reduced the parking on the street to one side only to allow firetrucks to pass. First time this has happened in 10 years.
