timeframe for requests

I currently have a platinum membership. When I try to request a week outside the expiration of the platinum membership (06/2010), the system will not let me place the request. It seems logical that I could place a request beyond 06/2010 with only a Gold membership as long as I don't exceed the 12 month limit. Is that correct?

Hi Miss Understood - Thank your for your post. The reason it will not let you request past the expiration date is for exactly that reason (Expired). As with other exchange companies, your membership dues must be current through the period you are requesting. In this instance, you would need to login... go to your profile and scroll down to the renew button. After you have renewed, it will then allow you to request for beyond 6/20/10.

I guess I need to extend my membership by switching to gold if I don't want to continue to pay the extra for platinum.Then I can request beyond my current expiration date of early June 2010.

That will work. I had to do the same thing. They took care of it over the phone and when I hung up-I was able to place my request.
