When I received my confirmation, I was assigned unit number 40A. I looked at the map, and it is the furthest away from the pools that one can be. Should I see about changing? Somewhere, I read what units were handicap accessable. That would help me somewhat, but not absolutely necessary. Also, which pool is nicer? Thanks for the help.

My understanding is that the lower units and the lower pool have more vegitation and plants as they have been there longer. Most visitors try and request an upper unit as some people complain about noise from upstairs.
You should call them and let them know that you need a handicaped unit as there is a limited number of these units, they will probably be a lower unit as I think most of the upper units have stairs. Just check to see the number of guests that they can hold as I hink they might only hold 4 instead of 6.

You already have an upper unit assigned the A stands for above but they reserve the right to change the unit. Best to call about 2-3 weeks prior when they have your reservation in the system.

Keep your newer unit, the older ones are in need of updating. Not only that, there are roach problems in the older units. We talked to people in newer units than ours (I think we were in 12B), and they had no roach problem. We had them all over the kitchen. We couldn't leave anything on the counter. The ugly little creatures joined us on the counter while we cut pineapple. Disgusting problem.

We just stayed two weeks in Hawaii, one on Maui and the other on Kauai and did not see a single roach. At Kona Hawaiian Village last year, we saw hundreds.
