VRI has announced that have taken over management of the InnSeason Resorts. This should be great news for owners of the 7 resorts involved:

Captain's Quarters at Surfside Resort Falmouth, MA

The Edgewater Beach Resort Dennis Port, MA

The Falls at Ogunquit Resort Ogyunquit, ME

Harborwalk Resort Falmouth, MA

Mountainview Resort Jackman, ME

Surfside Resort Falmouth, MA

Pollard Brook Lincoln, NH

They will also operate the InnSeason Vacation Club program

As I understand it InnSeasons has been a troubled operation. In the past VRI has done an excellent job of turning troubled resorts around. I would think they will do the same with this group.

See the full press release here (http://robinsonandgordon.com/VRI%20Press%20Release.040810.pdf).

Will these resorts now be part of the VRI-ety (spelling - sorry!) exchange program - those include some nice waterfront Cape Cod locations.

Every other VRI managed resort is so I would assume they will include these as well. Just FYI They spell it VRI*ety. Different.

According to ARDA there are about 1600 US timeshare resorts, which means that with 160 managed VRI represents almost 10% of all of them. That's a pretty big number.

Hey, I was pre*tty darn close!
That is good news for those who participate in that exchange program...althought it will probably be a while before any owners start depositing with them.

Good to know. I hope that doesn't change at RCI's whim.

And as long as it is VRI red - it will trade into ANY size VRI red week deposited. So studio for 3BR if available.

Also good to know. I own a red two bedroom, so no big trade-up potential there, but since II has changed it's bonus week policy, I think VRI will get this one.

For those interested, InnSeason ended its exclusive II affiliation and now has a relationship with RCI. We learned about the VRI thing and this RCI affiliation at the Pollard Brook Homeowners meeting. As I understand it, II is still an option for InnSeason owners but RCI is also in play.

Here's a source for the RCI affiliation.

This could benefit Sell mytimeshare now.. Billy Curran (InnSeason CEO) is a paid member of SMTN's Board of Directors. It will be interesting to see if some type or relationship occurs between VRI and SMTN..

VRI*ety depositors should understand that most of the prime weeks in the Innseason domain are fixed and rarely deposited. Some of the weeks are in the Innseson vacation club. Except for dog weeks VRI exchange will not add much of any value to their inventory.

Is there a reason why the situation with Innseason would differ from any other VRI-managed operation in which the inventory was fixed week?

In the end, it seems to me to be pretty straightforward. If depositing into VRI*ety creates added value for an owner of a fixed peak week, that's where the inventory will start to go. If there is no added value, no inventory is likely to show up.

That's certainly how it works for me. I use my peak fixed week at VRI resort where it gives me what I want. I've used it with VRI*ety, TPI, SFX, and HTSE. This coming year it's likely to wind up in DRI ClubSelect.

Our fixed week, fixed unit prime ski week gets deposited into II because we get Trapp Family Lodge so we may X-country ski and snowshoe.

I think it is very good news. Our resort has been a VRI resort for several years and we are very happy with VRI management. We don't use VRI*ety for exchanging but instead use SFX.

I am actually at InnSeason South Mountain right now. They are now BlueGreen.
I went up to Pollard Brook on Friday night to rent and internet box because SM was out. I noticed the new RCI posters in the lobby.

I have noticed that Pollard Brook inventory has not been showing up lately in II. South Mountain - some here an there. I love to trade into both of these resorts.

I think that this is good news for them.

I've been pretty happy with my VRI ownership and have gotten nice upgrades to other VRI's with RCI. Never tried exchanging with VRIety but do see alot of nice rentals in their inventory for $294 a week. Same kind of stuff that RCI does last calls but sometimes in places I never seen in RCI.

My unit exchanges pretty decent and they give you nice discounts when you rent from vriresorts.com and they've got some nice places.

I'm doing a whole trip using their rentals next month in New England and it was all done with my VRI discount since exchanging such short days would have been too difficult to get what I wanted. Actually RCI didn't have anything that met my needs so am glad I had VRI as a back up.
