expiring RCI points question
I have points that will expire May 2009. If I was going to use the points for an exchange, can I book now but not travel until after May or does the exchange need to be before the end of May? TIA

I'm 99% positive the reservation has to be for dates prior to the expiration. You can pay to extend your points, however.

I'm 100% positive the reservation has to be for a check-in date prior to the expiration. Check-out can be after the expiration. If it's more than 14K points, its $99 to extend.
Extend Points 14,000 pts. or more $99 USD
Less than 14,000 pts. $39 USD

Thanks for the clarification. I would have said 100% positive, but the last time I checked on this was last October when I had points expiring. I figured the interim 6 months was enough time for RCI to have possibly changed it's policy at least a handful of times.

Im alittle confused by the fees. On one of the RCI pages "manage your points" it says that you can extend your points for one year free and that you cant extend after that. Then under the fees page it give fees to extend... any clarification?? And when you say expiration is it after 1 year?

Existing points can be held for 2 years free with RCI. A further 1 year extension costs US $99. You can't extend any further than that, so any unused points after 3 years are lost.
