When you posted all those sightings for the Resort on Cocoa Beach which is a points resort I couldn't see any of them with my points. I assume that they were all deposits from weeks owners?

Lynn those were from the weeks side. Looked like developer weeks to me as opposed to individual owner deposits.

This is great puzzle to me. Why a developer decides to take advantage to pointize their resort, than put inventories to week? Want to convert more owners to point?

There is no doubt in my mind that depositing weeks by a developer for a Points resort is done as a sales tool in most cases.

I've never done the complete correlation but many of these resorts are also 1-in-x on the Weeks side (also a sales tool).

The mssing conclusion from my last update

What I forgot to say in my last update is that the pure weeks deposit that is only available for points on the points side does not fit with Gordon's 'total points in must equal total points out' theory, correct?

There are too many things involved in that equation. They could say they transfer some point week out from point inventory out of to the week system. So the total point is balance out.

Just like they can rent all the exchange weeks put in by memebers and still claim they have balance it by simply put the developer's deposit into mix, and probably can still get some number looks equal.

Basides, it does take a long time to reconsile something. Chances are, it will never be able to reconsile to the number. I will guess it is good if the error range is within thousands.

I have found that Pure Weeks deposits or ANY weeks deposits from a Points resort is never available from the points side.

As I think about this further, I realized that my theory doesn't quite hold water. I'm aware of a couple situations from the past where a resort pulled points inventory (equivalent #) out and made it available for booking on the weeks side. I understand this wasn't an exchange, rather an owner making a reservation at their home resort. While in this situation, it was equivalent withdrawl, it does show me that inventory and points can be manipulated at the resort level let alone at the broader level.

While that may be true in theory, it's not quite that simple. The good stuff won't make it to morning when RCI is open for you to be able to call RCI to have someone book it. And then when you hold it with a week so it doesn't disappear and then call in the morning, it's still dicy. Most of the time, you get a guide that says "it's different inventory and systems" so they have to release it and then try and grab it with the points. If it's a premo week, most of the time they won't be able to re-grab it with the points. I've had this happen more times than I care to remember.
