please help

Please help I just need to fully understand what i bought so that i can maximize my purchase. Again my sister had a set wk (29) in ruidoso and rci reps offered her to join rci for 2500 dlls and she would get another free wk (27) with 59,000 red points EACH. Since I had been looking to buy there and prices where higher (now i know better) I offered to pay the 2500 and keep the x-tra week (27). I got the deed to the property but I'm being told that all that I own is points. Is this correct? And my question is who is the owner of those wks 29 and 27? rci? what does it mean to join rci in respects to your deed? is that good or bad? thanks for the help. I know i'll be ok but just need to undestand a little better.

Lightbulb You own the deeded week at your resort

But, you gave RCI the right to use it for the next three years, unless you follow their reservation process, which iirc is you need to reserve your week 13 months in advance, otherwise, they deposit the 59k points into your account.

You can after 3 years choose not to re-new your points account, and the you would just own that fixed week.

59k isn't a bad size annual allotment of points. You can take a couple of trips and stay in some nice 1 bedroom units, or if you can travel short notice, you can get some great off season weeks for 9k.

Each of the requires an exchange fee, but with your relatively low annual cost, it makes for some affordable vacations.

I guess that since you signed the papers last Tuesday that you are beyond the the date to rescind this purchase, so it is good that you are trying to learn how best to use what you bought.

fwiw,

Greg
