They still hit you up for a credit card when you hold with points. I found that out at 3AM when I switched it off the week I originally grabbed it with. Worked out a lot cheaper for me. At least enough that I thought it was worth running the chance of losing it between releasing and catching.
Interesting thought. That a week on hold would still show as a phantom availability.
Personally I'd much rather go in September, I think it would be warmer but I'm still dealing with school and sports schedules. So I took the July week and am a happy camper.
